SPECIALTY POLARIZED LENSES NOW AVAILABLE
Posted 12/13/2002
Specialty Lens Corporation has released a new series of polarized lenses with 11 tints available for specific outdoor activities.
For example, orange is best for clay target shooting, while green would be a good choice for an all purpose lens.
For our local fisherman a polarized brown tint would be a great choice.
So, whatever your activity from biking to golf we can demonstate the best polarized tint for you.
These lenses are availble in most prescriptions and our staff would be happy to show you how these lenses can make your outdoor activities more comfortable.
How do they work?
A polarized lens has a film cast into the lens to filiter out unwantd light. Light normally travels in many different directions. When light hits a reflective surface like water or snow it becomes concentarated in one direction, resulting in reflected glare. The principle of a polarized lens is best illustrated by observing the use of venetian blinds. The blind blocks light at certain angles, while allowing light to transmit through select angles. True polarization is achieved by shutting our 100% of undesirable light (glare) and allowing 100% of desired light through.
