NEW BABY IN THE FAMILY?
Posted 1/5/2006
The doctors and staff of Spectrum Eyecare are committed to ensuring the visual welfare of your entire family. Therefore we have partnered with Johnson and Johnson and the American Optometric Association to provide a comprehensive eye assessment to infants between 6&12 months of age for NO CHARGE through a new program - InfantSee. The primary goal of InfantSee is to facilitate early detection of sight threatening conditions.
Amblyopia, or lazy eye, affects 1 in 30 children and 1 in 10 children are at risk for undiagnosed vision problems. Early treatment results in better vision, better teamwork between the eyes and a shorter treatment period. Waiting until children are 3 years old or later requires more intense therapy, with longer treatment, often with poor results.
InfantSee is designed as a complement to routine well-care exams given by your childs's pediatrician. Therefore we send a copy of the InfantSee assessment to your child's pediatrician. If treatment is necessary, it will be coordinated with your child's pediatrician.
Please contact our office at your earliest convenience to schedule an InfantSee evaluation for your child. If your child is older than 1 year we recommend a comprehensive examination at your earliest convenience. If you would like more information regarding InfantSee, please call us or visit www.infantsee.org.
